Dr Valérie J. Brousseau completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology with a thesis on genetics and évolution in 2008. She graduated as a university scholar in science. During her studies she received the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Award as well as a prestigious NSERC research grant for her work in evolutionary genetic and the Clarke K. MacLeod scholarship.
mDCM and surgical specialty training in otolaryngology head and neck surgery - mcgill university
During her studies in medicine at McGill University she participated in clinical and research activities in pediatric otolaryngology at the Cleveland Clinic and in research in auditory cortex development at the neurophysiology department at Johns Hopkins University. She obtained her MDCM degree in medicine in 2004 at McGill University and stayed on to train in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. During her residency she participated in numerous research projects and presented in many national and international conferences. She graduated from her specialty training in 2009.
endoscopic ear surgery training
In 2013 she trained in endoscopic ear surgery at the University of British Columbia and became the first surgeon to perform this technique in the province of Québec.

Dr Brousseau obtained her diploma with Great Distinction from the prestigious Global Clinical Research Scholar Training Program (GCRST) at Harvard University in 2016.

She earned a certificate in business management from the HBX program of the Harvard Business School at Harvard University in 2018.
